Catch Up

It's been a while; we haven't posted in over a month. With me starting back to work and Lila starting at her babysitter's it's been very busy around here. Check out what Lila has been doing for the past month or so.

August 5 - Lila still loves the standing positon. Of course, she can't stand on her own, but any time anyone is willing to hold her like this she takes them up on it.

August 6 - Lila always makes funny faces for the camera. She often goes all googly eyed when the camera flashes.

August 25 - Lila really enjoys her saucer and she can now sit in it without needing a blanket in the back for extra padding; she's getting so big.

August 23 - Lila has most definitely discovered her feet. She sticks her toes in her mouth any chance she gets, sometimes even with socks, and sometimes two feet at a time.

August 27 - A couple of weeks ago, we tried starting Lila on rice cereal. The look on her face when I put that spoon in her mouth was as if I'd stuck a dirty sock in instead of something edible; she was not ready. Fast forward two week or so to August 27, and she had her first real serving of cereal. She loved it! She was opening her mouth and even pulling in the spoon.

August 28 - We had to get the second cereal feeding on camera as well. It's quite a messy event. She really needs a bath afterward each time. In between bites, she likes to stick her feet in her mouth, which causes them to get covered in the remnants of cereal from her bib. What a mess, but it's so cute!

September 2 - Lila was five months old on August 28; she weighed 14 lbs. 8 oz. that day. Considering she started off at 5 lbs. 9 oz, we feel like she's made great strides already. She is generally a happy baby, and we feel blessed to have her
